This antique Victorian mourning locket or brooch is a beautiful treasure for the true antique jewelry collector. Centered in this 14kt yellow gold brooch are three textured flowing gold leaves. Amongst the leaves, a gorgeous blue turquoise cabochon dove is found perched with extended wings. This locket may be worn as a brooch with an antique c - clasp or or as a locket when a flexible bale is extended. As a locket, the dove appears to hang upside down, however, this detail is so that once the wearer lifts the locket the dove will be seen in proper form. A special compartment is found at the backside of this locket to store hair as a souvenir or remembrance of a lost loved one.
